  Couldn't even get in contact with anyone. My messages went unanswered. If this is how they conduct business, I very well may have dodged a bullet.

  My husband and I started the process to purchase a home back in the beginning of February. We thought we found the perfect lender. She had us preapproved the same night we applied. We signed our contract with the seller and sent it to the lender. We made the contract end date for April 30th for reasons that both parties involved agreed to. Fast forward to March. She didn’t submit our file until March 12th. Well then you can imagine all this stuff with Covid-19 started and rates started to drop. This meant everyone and their brother wanted to refinance their house and apparently banks became bombarded. I know this because every time I asked for an update on our loan, I was told how busy they were and how she had 12 files sitting on her desk. Every excuse under the sun. I asked this lady for WEEKS if there was an issue or if she thought there would be an issue. I know she doesn’t make the final call but she has supposedly been doing this long enough she should have an idea what to look for. She assured us time and time again that we were good to go. The underwriter was just behind on their work. She took money for our appraisal on March 30th before we even had the “approval” apparently. So throughout this she had $525 of our money. I wish you could all see the emails I have between us and could have heard the phone calls. I was always very respectful but tried to be stern at the same time. I asked time and time for an update. I explained how asinine it was that our application was submitted for over 7 weeks and we still didn’t make any progress. It was always excuse after excuse. Anyhow, she had us sign an addendum to prolong our contract to May 31st because it would for sure be done by then. So on May 12th, we find out that their underwriter “came across an issue.” So I offered a solution to this so-called issue to which she replied “that will be a lot of paperwork for where we are in the loan. I would just suggest to wait a couple more weeks and it will work itself out.” Who in their right mind is going to continue to wait for a couple more weeks whenever they’ve been waiting since February?! We waited days and days for new documents and never received them. Finally we went to a new bank that has done more for us in the last 2 ½ weeks than she did for us in the 2 ½ months she was supposedly helping us. However, now we may not be able to purchase the house because the seller is ready to throw in the towel with us (we don’t blame him) because she pulled us along for as long as she did.
