  I just purchased my first home. From the first meeting through the closing on the house, Guild Mortgage was there every step along the way - they answered all of my questions and made me feel supported. However the moment my loan was finalized, Guild Mortgage sold the loan to a rather generic company where I am now just a loan number and may never get to speak to someone personally about my mortgage again. Guild Mortgage's response when I asked about this transaction was that this is standard practice in the mortgage world. And while that may be true, my disappointment stems from the fact that I was sold on the personal attention, local people and continued care I would receive from Guild Mortgage for the life of my loan. And to have my loan transferred to a large company in another state with no local representation BEFORE my first payment was even due feels like a bait and switch. It affirms that because my loan was not high profile enough, it isn't worth their time to maintain.

  Carol and her team were absolutely fantastic! Well-informed and knowledgeable, they kept us up to date through the entire process and provided a timeline of next steps every stage of the way. When we went in to sign Carol explained every single document and answered all our questions. Carol and her team are awesome and really went above and beyond. They not only met but exceeded our expectations. 'Nuff said. :)
