      The Guild Mortgage COVID-19 response has been worse than Bank of America’s (who died to public outcry I believe have since update their policy). Per the Guild Mortgage website, the option provided for those having trouble paying their mortgage payments right now is Forbearance. And what does that mean? “The payments missed while on the suspended forbearance plan will become due upon conclusion of the forbearance period.” How would that help anybody? If you, say, can’t pay 3 months—how would you have your 4th month PLUS those 3 missed months PLUS the extra interest that’s accrued? The RIGHT thing to do would be to add those missed payments to the back of the loan. That’s what MANY other banks are doing. I know your branch isn’t responsible, but figure employees of Guild would have a better shot at effecting change.
