  In March, I paid my car loan the 20th, my payment is due the 13th. They are telling me, they received it the 26th. I was charged $35 late fee. The problem is I still paid the same amount, $322, I didn’t realize about the fee, what the “bank credit union for profit” did is to decrease my principal to charge the $35, that way I didn’t notice. They did it during the pandemic. Maybe legal but really unethical.

  By far the worst bank I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve had a car loan through hhfcu for over a year now. And have never missed a payment. I’m even set up for autopay to be directly deducted from my personal bank account. I’ve been charged 6 late fees and upon going to the branch to figure out what’s going on I did not receive a logical explanation and was given excuses and a courtesy refund of 2 late fees since they normally don’t refund penalties unless it’s their “fault” so as a “courtesy” I’m still charged $140 in false fees. Oh and they tack these fees onto your loan so you can be charged interest on top of them. I regret going with the best “deal” at the dealership rather than doing my research on the loan holder because they have poor reviews across the board and now I see why. I advise to look elsewhere when seeking any sort of loan because this place is a scam.
