  Buying my home through Humbolt Title Co has been one of the top 3 worst experiences with a company in my life. Our closing date was supposed to be November 10, 2020. After weeks of no word, no response to my calls or emails, I was finally asked to come sign the papers (with >24 hours notice/1.5 hour drive to their office from my location) on 12/22/20; 52 days past our original target date. Upon my arrival, Samantha M. did not have my paperwork ready and acted like I was imposing on her for showing up. Then, I was told that afternoon that she had a mistake on the paperwork, and I would need to come back a second time. After I refused to make a second drive to the coast from Willow Creek, I was asked to mail a revised, signed copy of the mistaken document. It is now 01/05/2021 and I still don’t have my closing documents/confirmation of ownership. I’m stuck without HO insurance without these docs. Samantha was absolutely awful to deal with! She was rude on the phone (the one time I got through) and in person, made multiple mistakes throughout the process, took zero responsibility or made any apologies to me or the seller for the delay or performance, and seemed completely unconcerned with providing this service to us. She is clearly in the wrong profession, though I don’t know what the right profession would be for someone like that.
