      I spent nearly 2 hours on hold waiting for customer service to reverse an incorrect fee. If you get a mortgage through Huntington (or if you were a TCF Bank customer who was moved to Huntington) know that you will be charged for the Asterisk Free Checking Account you are required to open when getting a mortgage. They charge you $5 per month for “inactivity” fees if you don’t actively make transactions from that checking account. I was told I could pay my mortgage through a different bank and that this checking account could just sit there. I caught the few after two months and immediately called Huntington. The service rep was not able to refund the fees. Worse, he said I needed to actively make transactions to/from the checking account to prevent future fees! I don’t even want this checking account!!
