  These young women who own this company are so kind and compassionate. Our reservation was set for the weekend preceding Hurricane Ida’s landfall. Hesitant to travel, we called and they explained that normally we would be outside cancellation policies but considering the circumstances we had options. We opted to give up our reservation so that an evacuee could use the condo we had rented, and Island Rentals issued me a prompt 100% refund. My advice to anyone in a similar situation, ALWAYS call ahead. I’m glad we reached out to Island Rentals and came up with a solution that benefited all. We went to Nashville instead. Island Rentals goes above and beyond for their clients, and they were so professional and kind to me. It was a smooth process.

  We booked this condo for my bachelorette weekend. The condo was great! Loved all the rooms and space of it. Unfortunately we weren’t able to stay the whole trip because of a major hurricane that was hiting our home state the same weekend. We left early due to the fact that we would not be able to get home safely. I-10 in New Orleans and other ways for us to get home were not passable and Gulf Shores ended up flooding as well so we would have been stranded with no place to stay due to us needing to check out on that Sunday. The owners of this condo were not understanding when it came to us needing to leave early. For safety reasons it was absolutely necessary for us to leave early! 10/10 would not recommend booking through this company! It’s unprofessional and absolutely sad that this company was not concerned with the safety of people who paid money to rent this condo!

  Hi Kristen, Your name is not listed as a guest on record at any of our properties. We did have a guest who booked the weekend to which you are referring and mentioned that it was a bachelorette party, so we are assuming that you were her guest. Since you did not book the unit, it is possible that you did not have the opportunity to read the house rules for the property that the guest of record would have had to have read prior to booking the unit. We would like to take the time to share the section of the house rules as it relates to refunds and cancellations. House Rules: REFUNDS: No refunds for early departures (fewer days than reserved). No refunds will be given for delayed arrival. No refunds or rescheduling will be made due to inclement weather. Neither Owner nor Island Rentals shall be liable for events beyond their control which may interfere with guest's occupancy, including, but not limited to Acts of God, acts of governmental agencies, strikes, war, and inclement weather. NO REBATE OR REFUND will be offered in these circumstances. Rental for periods of inclement weather will not be refunded. However, if there is a Mandatory Evacuation ordered by local authorities due to a hurricane or tropical storm, all unused rents while the evacuation order is in effect will be refunded. If the unit is uninhabitable due to storm damage, all unused rents will be refunded. Although unlikely, in the event that your vacation rental is uninhabitable due to a maintenance emergency or any other reason that would affect the safety and soundness of the property, Island Rentals will make every effort to relocate your reservation to another property, if available. If Island Rentals is unable to provide lodging, a full refund will be issued to the guest. We strongly recommend trip insurance to protect your investment. Your safety is very important to us. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer a refund unless a mandatory evacuation order is issued for our area, which it was not. We are not allowed to refund money due to rain, and for that reason we highly recommend buying trip insurance—especially during hurricane season. Since you are now familiar with our house rules that the guest who booked the unit agreed to during the booking process, we ask that you to take down the review. Thank you, The Island Rentals Team.
