I have had accounts at two other banks in the past but Key is my current bank and I plan to stay with them. They are friendly and say my name with a warm greeting whenever I need more then just an atm visit. The department that handles unauthorized charges or other account issues is quick to handle your claim and will follow up with you to make sure your issue was handled to your satisfaction. Sherwood Key bank is #1 for excellent customer service!

Awful bank with awful customer service. Awful, predatory banking practices; I've been doing a lot of research and Key Bank has an incredible amount of bad reviews regarding their predatory and immoral practices. Banks are out to make money, sure, but there's appropriate and inappropriate ways to go about it and most big banks realize that if they really to keep long term customers, they can't repeatedly screwing customers out of their money. Key Bank cares not about loyalty, they see you as a dollar sign and will do everything in their power to assess fees. Tonight I had them retroactively apply an overdraft fee (to an item they said wouldn't receive an overdraft), so that it shows up in my statement as occurring BEFORE recent transactions I'd made while still in the green. Therefore, I now owe them the overdraft fee, and two additional overdraft fees for the transactions that went through before they retroactively applied the fee. This bank has dropped the ball in every way possible. The workers are condescending, rude, inept at best. Incapable of any sort of consistency. Majority of people that claim to have good relationships with them either lucked out, or are putting in a significant enough amount of money with which they can earn interest that they actually receive appropriate treatment. Key Bank in general, and this branch in particular, is a money hole. Don't go here. Go to the Chase around the corner. Or wait for the new credit union being built across the street. Or try Rivermark. Or any other bank. Don't ignore the bad reviews, take to heart all the horrible things people have to say about this bank, Google reviews to see them on other sites, look up overdraft complaints regarding Key. I'm reasonable and see the best in everyone, but you can only be let down and treated the garbage so many times before you realize that hey, maybe they *don't* have my interest at heart; only their own.

This place is awful and no matter how close you live, do yourself a big long term favor and don't choose this bank. A new credit Union is being built right across the street, for anyone looking to switch away from this bank. My personal experience: opened the acct because I received a promotion in the mail ($300 if you set up direct deposit). They don't print your debit card at the bank like most other Banks/credit unions I've been to, so I was told to go home and wait for my card in the mail. No big deal. 1) Few weeks goes by, no card, I'm going on vacation with no access to my funds, so I go in. Turns out no one ever ordered the cards to begin with. I was given checks, at a charge, to use during my vacation... 2)I received the occasional overdraft fee, no problem. If I spend money and fall short, I have no issue paying the overdraft fee(s) since the bank is doing me a solid covering my purchase. However... 3) I went to buy glasses and instead of charging me the agreed upon amount, the front desk person accidentally charged me 1.5X the amount I owed. I cancelled the purchase, but it was going to take time to get a refund, so I went to the bank. I spoke to someone (she said she was the manager) who said that if this overcharge causes me an overdraft, she can't guarantee she'd waive it, because "that's how the bank makes it's money." Though it was no fault of my own. 4) That brings me to today. Noticed the other day that I was overdrawn (been having medical emergencies this month). Had several pending charges, 2 of which went through already, but no overdraft fee had been assessed. So I went to the bank and put in enough money to bring my acct +$20 in the green. I'd made a cash deposit. Key Bank kept my deposit pending, then changed the overdraft fees for those two purchases, which then brought me back into the negative, THEN put all the other pending charges through, which then all received a ($38) overdraft fee each. You know how most Banks give you a day to become current before they charge a fee? Not Key. They will apply overdraft fees retroactively- AFTER you bring your account in good standing- which created a negative balance, then they put all the other pending charges through. Overall I now have like 8 or 9 overdraft charges. Went to the bank to talk to someone. I know the employees aren't responsible for the practices of the bank and would never talk down to/get rude with these people. HOWEVER, they absolutely do not operate the same way. The employee INSISTED that I made the deposit AFTER all the pending charges went through (though if they'd check their ATM history they'd see that's not the case) and would not listen when I explained how it really was. She then began talking down to me, saying I wouldn't be in this situation if I'd stop spending money I didn't have- which sounds reasonable, except for the fact that the bank arranged withdraws/deposits in a way that they could CREATE several additional overdraft fees. This person talked down to me, was rude to me, unkind, and unhelpful. I don't appreciate the attitude when I'm being nothing but kind. There's several other interactions I've had with this bank, theyve all been unpleasant. I'm going back to my credit union, where they talk to me like an adult.
