  In a word: OUTSTANDING! I worked mostly with Barby and the team. All were quick to respond and willing to go the extra mile. Contract to Close 3 in weeks! Unheard of in this market. Some prior bad reviews appear to be self-employed borrowers. Personally know someone who had a similar experience. Seems there could improvement there, but be mindful that you can’t tell the IRS one thing then a mortgage company another. Kinda throws things sideways…

  HORRIBLE, INCREDIBLY UNPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE WITH KRISTEN BLOSSMAN AND FBT MORTGAGE: We were referred to Kristen Blossman by a mutual contact. We reached out to her team several months ahead of the Nov 20th closing date on our new home build. We were quickly pre-qualified, then “conditionally approved” by Underwriting 16 days ahead of closing. We weren’t expecting issues as my spouse and I’ve excellent credit scores, strong financial condition, and the loan to value was <20%. I reached out to Kristen’s team 5 business days prior to closing as we had not received the final loan approval. They requested a few more additional docs, then went radio silent on us. Kristen would NOT EVEN CALL US, rather she hid behind her email and had her associates screen inbound calls. At 1:00 PM the DAY BEFORE our expected Nov 20th closing, Kristen finally called to explain that Fannie Mae had tightened their guidelines EFFECTIVE Oct 1st for self-employed borrowers, prohibiting us from moving forward with a conventional loan. With less than 24 hours to our closing, she informed us of a policy change that had taken place 7 weeks prior!! After fumbling around with a poor explanation for their negligence, she offered us alternative higher cost products that would still not allow us to meet our closing deadline. We walked away from Kristen’s team after 60 DAYS of wasting our time, and missed our closing deadline. I’ve worked in financial services my entire career and have never seen such NEGLIGENCE AND LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM.
