      ETHICAL , PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGABLE Had the pleasure of working with Julie Fischer on some tax obligations from a recent startup with an out of country business partnership for an LLC. Due to the complicated nature of the partnership, late penalties and tax obligations - untangling and sorting the mess was not an easy one. Before visiting Lapp Fatch Myers & Gallagher I visited another well rated firm in San Luis Obispo, told my story, and spent a decent amount testing the waters to see if I felt comfortable moving forward . THE "OTHER FIRM" The other firm recommend that I filed as a C corporation in attempt to avoid some penalties. Additionally, during my visit I explained that I was looking for a long term solution and need help managing this situation. To be more specific, I was looking for a firm that could see the big picture of what I was trying to accomplish and strategically get me there. However, during my visit I felt uncomfortable and something just felt off. In business I've had the unfortunate luck of ignoring that gut feeling one time in my life. I've never made that mistake again. In looking back at the visit, the whole thing felt very short sighted, rushed and I felt someone was trying to close me. LAPP FATCH MYERS & GALLAGHER & TEAM In the end I was VERY happy I went with Julie because I saw exactly how much the tax rate would have cost my business in the long run filing as a C corp instead of an S corp - peanuts compared to small immediate penalties. Julie, Pat and front staff were EXTREMELY professional. My tax situation was well thought out and strategic. I very much look forward to working with this firm in the future.
