  Lack of communication when dealing with your accounts and I am not just talking about at the local branch! If there are any issues with someone’s account wouldn’t you think the bank would contact you! Not M and T they will just freeze your account hold up all your money in your accounts (mind you I have more than 1! ) and will not tell you anything and treat you like you are a criminal definitely doing more than just on here about this issue! One person tells you do this and another tells you no all at the same branch!

  Had M&T for almost twenty years. The quality of their service has declined greatly over the years. After they were found guilty of changing the order of peoples transactions to hit them with multiple overdraft fees I should have taken notice, but since it didn't affect me directly I overlooked it. Unfortunately after they canceled multiple payments of mine without permission due to a highly flawed fraud prevention system (only because it was to charities overseas) I had to drop them. Aside from a somewhat ok app, they refuse to move forward with society and insist on acting like it is still 1968 and not 2018. Only reason for giving this particular location more then 1 star is the actual employees at this particular branch were always professional and courteous.
