This is one of the few self-directed trust companies that will allow you to hold individual Direct Registered stocks in it, which makes it possible to DRS stocks held in IRA and Roth IRA accounts. Their customer service has been very responsive and it was easy to set up. The fees are very reasonable.

I started with Mainstar in 2014 and have done 32 transactions with them. They are a resource when you want to invest your IRA funds outside the normal investment channels, such as real estate. Their purpose is to simply approve your IRA investment by IRS/IRA guidelines, not make decisions if the investment is financially worthy or viable. That’s your job. The folks I work with, Marleen, Joyce, Jo, Jenny, Sarah, Carmen, Dakota, Kelsey and others are professional, responsive and just easy to work with. It’s always a delight and I appreciate it every time.
