  Anne diola was a dream to work with. After shopping around we found she had the lowest rates and even was able to waive the origination fee for us. I’m horrible with computers so Anne made sure to text or call me anytime I needed to look in my email, which was super nice. She is also just a delight to work with, she is super nice and understanding and very good at explaining things so I can understand them. After using Anne at Makai I would never go anywhere else . Thank you Anne !!!

  *DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY SUPER SHADY PRACTICES ESPECIALLY FROM ANNE DIOLA* My parents (who are low income) decided to reach out and work with Anne Diola to buy their first home. Anne insisted on having them submit an application. After submitting the application, completely GHOSTED by Anne. Probably because my parents are low income, but little did she know that I would have helped out with a 6-figure salary. She lost our business, but what's more dissapointing is how this company claims to help local families, but they (especially Anne Diola) is completely committed to supporing rich, white families and contributing to the housing crisis on the island. She was extremely unprofessional by asking people to fill out her application then ghost her clients after finding out an initial income does not match her threshhold. If you're a local family, take your business elsewhere.

  Hi, Mack. We always appreciate feedback as we continuously strive to improve our service and welcome the opportunity to share information about the loan process. When a prequalification letter is requested from a Makai Loan Originator, as in the case of your parents, the process takes time. Not only must an application must be completed, but other steps must take place to insure the accuracy of the loan amount to be stated in the letter. It does no one any good, least of all the borrower, if the prequalification letter is inaccurate. During the prequalification process, challenges often arise, such as low credit scores or income, or even errors within the automated systems used to qualify borrowers for certain programs. A responsible Loan Originator addresses these challenges prior to issuing the letter – if he or she does not, the prequalified loan amount in the letter may need to be reduced – resulting in a disappointed homebuyer. During this stage of the loan process, if the borrower does not state that he/she has or wants to add a co-borrower, the Loan Originator works to qualify them using only their asset and income information. If, however, the challenges to qualify the borrower cannot be met, or the loan amount is less than the borrower was hoping for, the borrower may be advised by their Loan Originator to the seek out a co-borrower. (This stage of the process had not been reached at the time of the writing of the above review.) All of these initial steps take time, sometimes several days to over a week, during which the Loan Originator works hard with the borrower’s loan scenario to qualify them. Our records show that in your parents’ case, the loan application was completed on 10/24/21, which was a Sunday, at 4:11pm HST. On Monday, 10/25/21 at 8:29am HST the application was uploaded to our system and at 9:22am HST, Anne was in contact with your mother, confirming receipt of the application. The application still had to be completed in full, as some data had not been included, and prequalification challenges addressed. Makai was notified of your review posting on 10/28/21 allowing for less than three days to complete the prequalification process. Makai Mortgage is a local company, with local employees and Loan Originators, and each of us takes pride in assisting all of our residents with the dream of home ownership. We encourage you to reply to Anne’s phone calls to discuss, with your parents’ consent of course, the details of the loan that Makai offered to them.

  We worked with Anne to purchase our house recently and had a wonderful experience! Everyone was very attentive to our needs and quick to respond. Would highly recommend for anyone on Maui!
