We really got screwed by Mortgage Mac, and their appointed appraisal company. Poor communication, don't return phone calls. Mortgage Mac thought our home was a log house, and couldn't figure out it was not despite obvious photos and us submitting signed off build plans from the city. The appraisal report ordered by Mortgage Mac was finally returned 1 day before our escrow close despite us paying expediting fees. Finally they were convinced the home was not log construction after they requested the appraiser write a specific disclosure on that topic. Mortgage Mac's investor then declined our loan for some unknown on the day we were originally scheduled to close. There is better service out there. Save yourself the time and headache. These guys are terrible. We have perfect credit, no debt, and 25% down ready on a qualifying home...and they procceded pull the plug on us in the 11th hour. How are these clowns still in business?
