  My husband and I were happy in our 3 bedroom starter home with our 2 baby daughters. However, when my stepdaughter and mother eventually moved in as well; our perfectly sized home suddenly became crowded. We managed to deal with it for a few years but by winter 2017 we were fed up and started looking for a new home. We decided to build new and trusted the preferred lender of the home builder. We met with the lender and began building after she assured us we would be approved for the home we wanted. However after we’d paid our earnest money we didn't hear anything else from this lender until I finally got her to return my calls at the end of February 2018. She informed me that the “rules for her company changed” and now they needed a ridiculous amount of money down for us to move into the home. We were in need of a miracle and that’s when I found Ben. I must admit the name of his company pulled me in (LOL) Ben is a patient and intent listener. He took the time to work the numbers many different ways to see if he could reasonably move us into the house we were building. Ultimately given the history of our self employed tax returns he couldn’t make the numbers work for the home we were building. He suggested “If only it were cheaper”. When he said that a lightbulb went off for me. We didn’t HAVE TO HAVE the house we were building. We just needed the space for comfort! The home builder had some inventory homes that were cheaper and still accommodated our needs and wants. Since it was with the same builder our earnest money was transferable. It was still an uphill battle. There were record discrepancies from Hurricane Harvey, our current mortgage company was shady, but Ben worked tirelessly on every angle to get us a great deal on our home. He always readily responded to my calls, texts and emails and over the course of this process spent hours on the phone with us. He took the time to get to know us and we could see he was invested in seeing us win. Additionally he also encouraged our faith and prayer whenever we would seemingly hit a brick wall. He’s not just a good mortgage broker, he’s a good guy and that counts for a lot in our book. My family is grateful for the work of Ben and his team, and our family LOVES our new home. Should we move again or hear of any friends moving to a new home, Ben gets our highest recommendation. With him, Mortgage Miracles (really do) Happen! :-)
