  Negative 10 stars!!!!!! We worked closely with a MountainOne mortgage specialist in Rockland, MA. for the mortgage on our new home. We knew our mortgage was going to be sold soon after we signed the papers -that's just the way it is. What we didn't know was MountainOne was going to sell our mortgage to a low income/low-no credit, bottom of the barrel/scamming home loans bank. We both have perfect credit scores and feel that we were the appealing "good" loan that was thrown in with a pile of less than appealing loans. The bank they sold us to (CALIBER) has been nothing but a nightmare for us! All of the negative reviews are 100% true. It's a constant struggle with them -it seems like they try to set you up to fail.. they hold mortgage payments made by check for 5 days before posting the payment to your account -if it's posted past the due date it's your problem, they charge a fee if you make the payment online or on the phone, they don't allow you to make a mortgage payment online until 2 or 3 days before it's due, every piece of correspondence they send has "THIS IS AN ATTEMPT TO COLLECT A DEBT" printed on it in bold letters -it makes us feel like we are being chased by a collection agency.... and on and on.... We have been in contact with MountainOne for the last 4 months PLEADING with them to take our mortgage back from the nightmare of a bank that they sold us to and make this right. Melissa at MountainOne gave us her final decision today and that was we can refinance through them (MountainOne) at the current HIGHER interest rate + closing costs. We just paid them closing costs 4 months ago! They sold us up the river and now we have to pay them to fix the mess that they made... UNBELIEVABLE !! We are now doing what we should've done 4 months ago and speaking with other finance/mortgage people and a lawyer to find out if what MountainOne did is legal. It can't be OK to do this to a consumer... We will never forgive anyone (and you know who you are!!) we worked with at MountainOne for what they did to us. AVOID MOUNTAINONE IN ROCKLAND MA. DO NOT GIVE THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO FOOL AROUND WITH YOUR MORTGAGE, MONEY & CREDIT. A 30 year mortgage with some sleazy bank is a long, long time. You've been warned !!
