Cathy LaRock mislead me about the qualifications I needed to qualify for a home loan and had me purchase expensive services needed, such as a termite inspection for $400 that was non-refundable. She also asked that I purchase an appraisal for $700, although I declined with questions popping up about basic application qualifications. Turns out she waited for the homeowner to spend money on home improvements myself to spend money on services requested by the mortgage company to even finish running the application. Being that I am a first time home buyer, I trusted her and what she told me to be true. She waited to run my application AFTER we spent time and money on completing inspections, etc., knowing I had a rocky employment history and a lower income. These are basics! Why she had everyone spending money before she knew that I qualified shows her incompetence. Do not trust her.

This is the second time we get a loan from New American because of the excellent experience we've had. Cathy and Anna are very nice and professional.
