  If I could use more stars I would. I have had a checking/savings account with Oregonians Credit Union since early 1980, plus having Auto Loans & Home Equity Loans. My children were set up with an account also in the 1980s. Lastly, my father was an employee of the parent company for 38 years before his retirement. Early on, I learned how to use the telephone to transfer money from my accounts, but just in the last 12 months I've learned how to do Online Banking. This is a great, homegrown company. The employees are fully trained for all aspects of banking needs.

  i have been very happy with them for a long time . then last week i called the fraud line to dispute a charge on my debit card. The person on the other end of the phone told me that they had to shut my card off right now. I told them not to but they did so anyway. I was about 200 miles away from home and i had no cash on me just my card. I had about a quarter tank of gas and no food. I had to sleep in my car till the next day when I could get hold of someone to wire me some money. in the mean time i called the fraud line back and demanded that they turn my card back on. they said they couldn't do that. i am so upset about this whole thing that im going to switch credit unions. i know it isnt there fault but i need to get a CU that is closer to my house as i just moved not long ago. to sum it all up I am very upset with the way i was locked out of my acct. i would not use the same fraud outfit that they do. the CU its self is top rated in my book. i have been with them for a long time and this is my only complaint.

  Hi, Cory! We really appreciate you leaving this feedback. I'm glad to hear things have been great up until now, but I'm so sorry to hear about what's happened in the last week! I empathize with your situation, that sounds awful 🙁. With all financial institutions, if you report fraud or dispute a charge on a card they will immediately 1) cancel the card, and 2) re-issue a new card with a new card number. And once the buttons are clicked, there's no turning back. The only way to have avoided this happening would have been to wait to report the fraud, but in most situations this isn't recommended. For future reference, whether it's with us or another credit union that is part of the Co-Op Shared Branching network, you can go into their branches to access your accounts. You don't need your card to do this, either - they verify you by other means. When you do receive your new card, do know that you can use it, free of charge, at more than 30,000 Co-Op ATMs nationwide, and many of these ATMs accept deposits. You can also use the Shared Branching for many banking needs for your Oregonians account, at a participating credit union near you.
