  Just had major dental work done, including tooth saving, implants, appliances, and bone building, Long process, but excellent, caring work. Bit of a haul from Vashon to Queen Anne, but worth it. Highly, highly recommend Dr. Frank Calvo at Queen Anne Dental Group.

  I would not recommend Frank Calvo. I went for 45 years with no dental work of any kind. I went here for a second opinion regarding a filling. Within less than a year as a result of the treatments I received under Dr, Calvo's care I was told I needed upper and lower gum grafts, upper and lower braces, and orthognathic jaw surgery to realign my jaws. The original tooth was never properly restored but by the time Dr. Calvo was done I needed a full mouth restoration and $40,000 worth of corrective treatment. After Dr. Calvo filed my teeth he stopped talking to me. He refused to refer me to another dentist, and he refused to tell me what he had done. I spent thousands of dollars unnecessarily while I tried to piece together what had happened. My teeth were completely straight. Now none of my teeth touch. Early intervention could have saved my orthodontia. If I had been told what was happening. This has affected my health, my ability to work, and my finances. I'm the one who has had to pay all the dental bills. Dr. Calvo caused serious, irreparable damage over a single tooth. He did not offer to pay for the treatment to correct it. He did not call any of his colleagues in to help fix it. Despite the fact that there is a jaw specialist and a periodontist in the same office as his. Instead Dr. Calvo tried to cover up what had happened and turned his back on me as his patient. Things sometimes happen that are unanticipated. It's how you handle the situation that will determine the outcome. If you have an issue with Dr. Calvo's work you may have difficulty getting resolution. Choosing a dentist is a personal choice but you only get one set of natural teeth. There are many caring, honest dentists within a 5 mile radius of Queen Anne Dental group who will stand by their work and who truly care about their patients. A dentist who would do this to their patient and then walk away pretending nothing happened has a serious disconnect ethically and professionally. I don't want this to happen to someone else. And I definitely don't want someone to have to spend $50,000 to repair work that should have only involved a single tooth. I hope that by sharing my experience it will prevent someone else from being harmed. a.) Nobody has the right to subject you to irreversible treatments without your consent. It's called Informed Consent. If a health care provider is going to perform a permanent procedure they need to advise you of the risks and benefits first and ask you if you want to do it. if something goes wrong and the effects are permanent it's you as the patient who will have to live with it. Not the dentist. b.) If something does go wrong during your dental treatment, you're going to want a dentist who will tell the truth and make the effort to correct the problem. It goes without saying that the dentist should pay to fix it if the patient didn't ask for the work to be done and the dentist did it without the patients knowledge or consent. Don't walk away leaving it to the patient and other dentists to pick up the pieces. Like other reviewers I liked and trusted Dr. Calvo. I've always had the highest respect for dentists. This person trashed my mouth. I can only describe it as senseless and unnecessary damage and suffering. That could have been stopped at many different points if Dr. Calvo had done what any normal dentist would do.
