  Rodney and Candice were the best. Anytime I had a question they were quick to reply. They had all my documents together way in advance of the closing date. I highly recommend Rodney Massie & Finance of America Mortgage.

  If your looking for a mortgage company to inform you on the night before you close on your house that nope, you do not have a loan and are denied. Then your in the right pace and this is the place for you. Thousands of dollars lost, supposedly pre-approved, Survey done, appraisals, inspections, septic pumped and also inspected. This was all for at 8 pm the night before we were all set to close, we received a call informing us that we were denied our mortgage. I have never experienced anything like what this company did. Do not waste your time here. Please learn from our mistake and do not put your family in the hands of this company. They are reckless, unprofessional, and have no care for you or your family.

  Jessica, we are very disappointed as well your loan was not able to close as we had gone above and beyond what is typically necessary to obtain final loan approval. We have had thousands of closings and extremely satisfied borrowers. A message to all those reading this review. We are in the business of closing loans, not denying loans. Borrowers have the responsibility to provide accurate information at initial application and throughout the loan process. When this does not happen, whether knowingly or unknowingly, we do our best to overcome this misinformation by requesting and obtaining the correct information and corroborating documentation. Unfortunately, once the correct and accurate information is revealed, borrowers may no longer qualify. A suggestion to all: be as accurate as possible when completing a loan application. Also, review the agreement and acknowledgment portion of the Uniform Residential Loan Application prior to signing.

  Home buying can be a very confusing process and I would NEVER recommend Rodney or his team as a lender. Not once were we provide with a timeline of when documents should be submitted in order to maintain the projected closing date, which was postponed 3 times due to their lack of punctuality . We were hassled at 8pm on a Saturday night for further information. Not only did Candice ask for our personal banking login information but when confronted about the level of unprofessionalism in this request, no response was given. After closing, a month ago, we are still being solicited by FOA daily to enroll in other coverage policies. It was important to us to have a local lender, however what FOA won’t tell you is they will sell your mortgage to a larger company and you become just another account holder. Be mindful when shopping for a lender, this company doesn’t have your best interest in mind, only the bottom dollar.
