  My wife and I were with a large well known bank before we found Sharonview. We started with a HELOC and we’re so pleased how easy the process was. Then a car loan… now they are helping us finance our new home that is being built now. This has been a crazy time to be building a house with construction delays and mortgage rates going crazy, but they have been great to work with. Highly recommend Latoya Barret for mortgage loans. Very glad we made the change!

  Please be aware that if you apply for a deposit account (savings, checking) with Sharonview Credit Union then you will get a hard pull on your credit report. I have had my credit reports frozen for over 10 years. My credit score is good. I have no desire to apply for credit at this time, and I keep my reports frozen to prevent fraud. After applying online for a savings and checking account at Sharonview, I received a phone call from a rep in Charlotte asking me to unfreeze my credit so they can get a hard pull. This is unacceptable. There is absolutely no reason for a credit check. I am only trying to open deposit accounts. I have been using Piedmont Advantage Credit Union for over 10 years, and they are closing the Wilmington NC branch. This is the only reason I was applying at Sharonview. If they are so concerned that I am a risk, then they should use a more appropriate review of ChexSystems or another comparable company that provides information about the use of deposit accounts by consumers, not one of the three credit report companies. Good grief. UPDATE- A week after your response-no one has contacted me.
