  It's not fair that when they merged with CenterState Bank that the reviews from CenterState Bank stayed on. This new bank is an absolute joke. Over the years I have closed many manufactured home loans with CenterState Bank. Never had an issue. Great service. South State is an absolute joke. They've delayed our closing multiple times even after they were the ones who gave us a closing date! Horrible communication! STAY AWAY until they get their act together! I do not write negative reviews often because I know it affects peoples businesses, but if you trust South State with your clients and your business, prepare to be embarrassed.

  Went in to deposit money in my ten-year-old bank account and was told the Bank closed her account due to non usage in over a yearThey then explained that they've kept all of her money that we deposited over $100. I asked to speak to a manager and someone came over and said well you signed the contract when you open the account and we have the right to take your money I explained it is a Minor's birthday money and ask for a credit which was refused. The manager if that was a manager I'm not sure was very cold and Unapologetic we will not be returning and our neighbor have closed their account based on what had occurred. I could not believe the poor customer service and nasty attitude
