  I don't like posting reviews unless I feel it is necessary - but I feel it is beneficial for others. Everyone was friendly at this establishment, so by no means is it personal. I needed a CPA to help file taxes for my day job and multiple side gigs. One of the documents I sent via email was password encrypted (my W-2 for my day job) unknowingly. When my taxes were filed, TBS did not include the password encrypted file in my taxes, meaning my taxes did not include my W-2 from my day job - MOST OF MY INCOME. I didn't realize this when I looked over the document before it was submitted - so that is my mistake. However, this is a HUGE error - the business should have let me know the file needed a password to access it. Now I am still waiting on my refund that I was filed in July 2021. There was apparently an error in my amended file as well. I have been calling the IRS but have been unable to get a hold of anyone. I was also told that my refund would be a direct deposit but according to the IRS it will be a check, so I was also told misinformation as well. Unfortunately would not recommend.

  Dear Rashelle, You are absolutely correct about your statement. That was an error made of overlooking your W2 when it was sent to us. However, for such instances we review the tax return with our clients and have them sign an authorization after the review before filing the income taxes. We had missed the tax document but we did get an approval from you before efiling your 2020 income taxes. We did/do admit our mistake and apologized for it, which is why we did not charge you for filing an amendment to your taxes. As far as the direct deposit is concerned, when the taxes are amended the IRS sometimes defaults the refund to a check instead of direct deposit for fraud prevention purposes. This is to ensure that it was the taxpayer who really filed for the amendment and would have to cash the refund check without going to someone else's hands. However, we did request the refund to be direct deposited to your bank account. Unfortunately, they are defaulting to a check instead of direct deposit. We hope you accept our sincere apologize. As a good faith, we would like to invite you back for 2021 taxes for no charge to make our wrong right with you.
