  Our experience with Title One was frustrating. Our home was held in trust, a fact the title company was aware of at the beginning of the closing process. On the day we signed the papers in our names (not as trustees), Title One informed us we would need a financial account in the trust’s name to receive the proceeds from the sale. We do not have one. Instead of taking responsibility for not preparing or requiring the appropriate paperwork in advance, we were treated as if WE had done something wrong by not having a trust account. They initially refused to wire the money to my husband’s checking account. When the supervisor came out to address the issue, she assumed we were unmarried because we have different last names. When we told her we are married, she assumed we had a joint checking account. Ultimately, she acted as though she and the company were doing us a big favor by pulling strings to try to fix a mistake they made by getting special approval from the president to wire our money to one of our accounts. We were told not to worry about it because it was a faith based company. That was not comforting. After all that, I received a request to write this review, and it was addressed to my husband. I would not refer Title One to anyone or use this company again.
