Personal experiences have not been great so far. was given a hand-written personal check in return for a $500 cash deposit paid for a rental car company (Inconveniently). Tried to mobile-deposit it, which required that I mark a small checkbox on the back of the check, however, the mobile-deposit refused to accept the hand written check (Extra-Inconvenient). So we pay to taxi to the bank with the check (rented car returned long ago), and waited an hour for the teller to "verify" the check. Then, the teller came out and said she was not able to contact the account holder to verify the check. We barely had enough money to taxi back home afterward. We contacted the rental company ourselves though and he said he talked to the bank and verified the check, so i was good to go back and try again. So we paid another taxi yesterday, and Refused to cash the check Again, because of the small "check-mark" on the back. Said we need to get it reissued. We had to ride the bus back home (sharing our gratitude to the kind driver who let us ride 75 cents short the cost for 2). Today will be our third (3x) attempt to work with this torrey pines, after paying yet another taxi to take us both back to the car rental place to pick up the new check, and then back to the bank (Beyond-Inconvenient). We feel mistreated so far. They would seriously benefit from upgrade to their systems, before they get left behind as another failed bank.
