  I have been involved in several cases wherein TrESCo was appointed and found them to be cost conscious, responsive, and professional. If I had any suspicion that my estate was headed towards disagreement and litigation, I'd definitely consider them to manage my estate.

  My best friend, with power of attorney, was taking care of his grandfather till the Uncle with medical power of attorney call these guys. They have done nothing but harass the grandson, sell items the grandson left at his grandparents house, take over property management (which is now loosing money on thanks to Tresco), and charge the estate $8,000 over the summer.

  Clearly this does not reflect actual facts and the situation you are referring to is quite different than you describe. Unfortunately we cannot disclose details that would violate the persons privacy but none of these accusations are accurate. When we are appointed by the courts to protect the assets of a vulnerable adult we often are at odds with those who benefited financially from their previous position and who have been replaced with independent decision makers who are accountable to the rest of the family and courts. Unlike your friend our actions and accounting are transparent to those involved and are focused in caring for the needs of the person and their property. In some extreme cases we end up referring to law enforcement for investigations of alleged criminal elder abuse and exploitation. You are welcome to contact us directly to discuss your concerns.

  Tresco will continue to charge your family trust monthly while the family members squabble. Tresco has terrible mediation skills. If you have one family member that is wacky, that wacky member will be allowed to dominate any decisions made. Tresco will cost your family a lot of money. And still, two years later, Tresco is still bleeding our family of $319.50 per month, with no resolution.

  It's all too common for us to be involved as a neutral 3rd party appointee in the midst of high conflict between family members. Unfortunately dealing with those conflicts can be expensive and lengthy but we always work to find practical solutions whenever possible. It is a tragic but true statement that one difficult party can derail the resolution of conflict and cause the entire family to suffer the impact.
