Here is some of the details of my dissatisfaction with the handling of my past checking account with BB&T. I had two personal checking accounts with BB&T. Money was taken out of the wrong account one day without my permission. I filed several complaints with BB&T, and even with the fraud department at BB&T. This transaction had even caused me to be overdrawn (if I remember correctly). BB&T refused to investigate at all or do anything to correct the situation. The part that got me the most was that they “refused” to investigate my fraud claim. I went in and talked with the branch manager and nothing. Instead, BB&T charged me an extra fee as they closed my account. To add insult to injury. BB&T now is giving me a bad name, reputation and image, because they refuse to protect my account from intrusion, fraudulent activities and sent my account to the bad accounts section in ChexSystems and now to a bill collector. Now I have a bad debt with being pursued by a debt collector, BB&T & ChexSystems. When I was a victim in this circumstance. Talk about systematic racism. If I was a white person with money and clout, BB&T would have, first of all, conducted a thorough investigation into my fraudulent claim. BB&T would have treated me with decency, professionalism and respect along with integrity. They would also have corrected that problem. I sadly recall, one representative I was speaking with was so rude and unprofessional to me, that she told me off, as well as refused to help resolve my issue. So therefore, I will never place my hard earned money in that institution again (now Truist). On top of this. Now I have to seek legal assistance to get this handled. Will most likely start with the Attorney’s General’s Office to seek their assistance in pointing me in the right direction.
