  Feb 2022 UPDATE: NYS unclaimed funds STILL can not find me in their system and said it could take even until the summer months for me to be able to claim my funds. This is unacceptable and Trustco is lucky if I don't file a law suit against them for illegally submitting my checking & savings account to NYS Abandoned property. They are required BY LAW to provide me when letters several months beforehand to let me know that if I remain inactive in my account(s), the money will go to unclaimed funds. They not only didn't send me anything, THEY HAVE NO PROOF OF SENDING ME LETTERS OR WHERE MY MONEY EVEN WENT. They can't provide me with a receipt that it in fact when to the state. For all I know, someone completely liquidated my bank accounts and hacked their system. In November 2021, Trustco closed my checking and savings account (sent me a letter asking why I closed my account when I didn't) and I found out they gave it to the state. They were legally obligated to contact me at least 2 times before surrendering ALL OF MY MONEY to the state. 3 months later I am still waiting for Trustco to provide me with proof that they notified me at all and for months I was told that they can't find any proof. So now I am in limbo, my money is no where to be found because it's not showing up on the NYS abandoned property website. Thanks Trustco, I DON'T TRUST YOU ANYMORE. Shout out to Michael at this branch though, he was as helpful as he could be but this issue was far over his capabilities. Trustco bank as a whole illegally gave my money away and I will never recommend them to anyone.
