  Horrible from the start. I scheduled an appointment at the Lacey branch for my husband and I to talk with an LO about a HELOC. We showed up for our appointment and were told the LO only works at the Olympia branch, despite the fact I had an email confirmation with the Lacey branch’s address and the time of our appointment. We called to let the LO know that we wouldn’t be able to make it across town in time. The LO was busy so someone else took a message. We never heard back from the LO. We rescheduled for a phone appointment instead. During the process we received very little communication, questions and emails weren’t responded to for several days to a week. I continually had to reach out for updates. We signed documents with the title company and they were recorded two days ago but still haven’t heard from anyone. I attempted several times to open a checking account online but kept receiving error messages. I called customer service and was told to just “try again.” We want a checking account with WaFd to more easily access our funds and not have to go into a branch each time for a check when we need to pay for something. I time off work to go to the Olympia branch to open a checking account because I couldn’t through the website due to the errors, but was told there wasn’t anyone working that day to help us. As my husband put it “they’re a bank, just sometimes, not all the time.” I regret ever starting this process with WaFd and can’t wait to pay off our HELOC and move on.
