  I transferred my business to Wheatland a couple of years ago for the purpose of getting better customer service. A couple of months ago I hit a deer. I had insured the car with comprehensive and collision, so it shouldn't have been a problem. But, my agent in Pendleton had reduced my coverage to liability without my permission or knowledge. To be fair, I did ask for a "quote", then I declined the change. The agent then sent a letter (that I never received) that purportedly stated that they were going to change my insurance unless I told them not to. Since when did negative confirmation become best practice? So, I had to replace my car with my own financial resources and nearly begger myself in the process. Fast forward two months, and Safeco (who I was insured with, through Wheatland) chose to reinstate my comprehensive coverage, after lengthy negotiations and deliberations. Safeco WOULD NOT have done this unless someone had screwed up. Setting aside the complete breakdown of customer service, being financially stressed, getting the run-around for two months, there is really one thing that bothers me most. Wheatland Insurance never apologized or admitted fault - not even once! I left them with one star because they were the epitomamy of friendliness while they completly screwed up my business. Also, Safeco did a better than fair job. I switched insurance companies to wash my hands of the whole affair and preempt getting dropped at the slightest pretense, in the future (a favorite thing for insurance companies to do, after a claim or two).

  I am not all ways the best customer but; Debbie Morrison is the best Agent from whom I purchase insurance. She handles my questions, gives excellent advise and is an expert in her specialty.
