I have made timely mortgage payments throughout the entire timeline of my mortgage - I have it setup on auto-bill pay through my bank. At the beginning of this year, my mortgage payment changed (because of escrow modifications). This happens, but in my situation Wintrust/Barrington never notified me of the change. My set auto-pay kept coming but it didn't match the new payment. Even when there was a discrepancy in my balance, Wintrust/Barrington didn't notify me. I only discovered it until a credit reporting was made. When I saw the credit reporting I quickly corrected the issue. I attempted to reach out which by the way is just an email that you have to wait for 24 hours to receive a response... I asked them politely to have the credit reporting to be removed as it obviously was an issue in terms of notification of change in payment. Instead they keep sending me a copy and pasted response saying that my payment didn't match and therefore they can't change the credit reporting. Even though they are required by law to notify me.
