I had to close and reopen my account today, for reasons. Everyone that was there was a big help, very friendly and we made jokes about almost anything.

Extremely disappointing experience. They force you to do all basic transactions through a video-linked automatic teller. They don't even have $10 bills on site. If you want face to face service in a community banking setting, you won't find it here. I've been a customer for ten years and while the Beavercreek branches are fine, the Columbus area ones are absolute garbage. WPCU used to focus on excellent levels of service, now all they want to do is automate everything so they can expand. Still having the same issues 4 years after I first reported it. They also get real nervous if you try to withdrawal more than tiny amounts of cash.

Hi Dennis. First and foremost, thank you for choosing to be a WPCU member for the past ten years. In regards to our Columbus Member Centers, yes, we do utilize the Personal Teller Machines (PTM) in lieu of traditional teller's for basic transactions. The intention of this is to provider faster service to our members, not to eliminate the personal face-to-face interaction. As you'll see on the PTM transactions, you're connected with live WPCU employees that are working here at our corporate office in Beavercreek. If there is anything you and other members need assistance with beyond making a basic transaction, each location has WPCU partner-employees there to assist. In regards to the $10 bills, you're correct, the PTMs don't hold them and we are very sorry for the inconvenience. We're do appreciate that you pointed this out and will take note of it in regards to things we could improve for our members. If $10 bills are something you frequently like to receive we recommend letting the manager of the member center know this so they can keep track of that feedback. We want to truly thank you for your feedback and for choosing to be a member of WPCU. Have a great day Dennis!

Process for loans is disappointing. I applied through the app, got a message that I was approved, and then had to call and talk with a rep who then told me I was not approved. I’m not complaining about the approval or disapproval, I am noting that the process is bad. First of all, it’s 2022 and everything should be able to be done online and not have to have a phone call. Second, it’s weird and invasive to have a phone rep read your credit report to you over the phone. I know credit is checked at the time of a loan. I know what’s on my credit report. I do not need someone to read it to me. Third, the app should NOT be telling people they are approved, only to turn around and be told verbally that you are not. Why is it not consistent? I have multiple other WPCU accounts in good standing and yet this experience was so insulting that it makes me want to find a new bank. Nothing like the app getting its information wrong and then having to be humiliated by a phone rep. The app should have provided the correct decision in the first place and the reps should offer the choice of reading through the credit report or not. The computer should be able to give the correct info about the decision and the reps should not need to be that far into personal information. Again, it’s 2022. Technology is available for this. Other things missing from the app/website: live chat! There is an email/send a message feature and literally every response tells you to call them. I don’t want to call! That’s why I sent a message! Live chat is a basic service that should be offered for EVERYTHING. Two stars only because I have had some friendly service, but overall do not recommend.
