  I've used Altabank (formerly Bank of American Fork) for 5+ years now, and I've been coming to this branch for roughly 4 years. I've done a number of transactions with them, and have enjoyed interfacing with the staff on each one. Every time I've come here it's been a positive experience. The staff are very friendly and good to work with. I recently worked with Debbie who helped me setup a new account. She was so great to work with, and she kept in contact with me throughout the day to help me with paperwork and information that I would need. It was a great experience, and I really appreciated her help and walking through something that was new to me and, due to my situation, was a unique situation. She reminded me why I love coming here and why I recommend others use Altabank as well.

  Impossible to get a hold of! I keep being put on hold and then get hung up on :/ Will definitely be switching banks.

  Overall, Bank of American Fork has a multitude of cutomser service related and technical issues. On average, my card will be declined 10 times a month for absolutely no reason. There will be funds in the account and I will be using the correct pin, but it will decline the card. After waiting about 45 minutes, the card will start working again. Also, direct deposits will sometimes not hit your account until the afternoon or even the next day from when it was scheduled. As a graduate student who works very hard just to make ends meet, this is very frustrating. The only reason I have kept this account active is because my student loans are set up with Bank of AF and my fiance has a Bank of AF account so it is easy to transfer money. Lastly, Michelle, I believe at the Lehi branch, is astonishingly rude. I recently called about a problem I was having with funds being withdrawn by PayPal without my knowledge. Though it was ultimately my fault, Michelle proved to be harsh, demeaning, and extremely unpleasant. Instead of just being informative and letting me know when a certain amount of money needed to be paid by, she thought it better to go on a tirade about how my account will be shut down and sent to collections if it doesnt get paid. It was a truly awful and infantilizing experience. Bank of American Fork is good if you want a litany of technical issues, poor customer service, and the anxiety of if your card is going to work or not each time you use it. If that's your cup of tea, give Michelle at the Lehi branch a call.
