      In March 2020 I was charged a $37.00 penalty for an overdraft of my checking account. I overdrew $120. I live totally on social security. My job driving for Uber had completely dried up. It took me some days to get my account squared away. I was shocked to see that every 3 days an additional $30 was tacked on to my balance due. That raised the penalty for overdraft to $127.00. This seemed just like piling on to me. It made me angry. When I went to speak to the manager at the West Boylston office about the additional fees I was told there was nothing they could do except forgive the original overdraft payment of $37.00. I ended up paying the bank $90 in penalties for a $120 overdraft. On Citizen's Bank's COVID 19 webpage in big letters: “Ready to get through this together”. In my opinion they did not live up to that pledge.
