  Donald the broker is one of the most inept individuals I have ever met. They completely botch a transaction for the for the 18 months and forced me to spend hundreds of thousands in legal.

  We met Josh Bauer-Boyd through an open house for a property he was selling. Josh presents as an honest, straight-forward guy, but we learned that wasn’t the case — the hard way. We ultimately ended up making an offer on this home after said open house. Now, I know the market is crazy, but this was just poor form… We submitted our offer later in the evening and followed-up with Josh to see when they’d be taking the time to review it. He had actually been bowling at that time with the sellers (it is a family friend, as he told us), and they’d be sitting down to look at it in the morning. While we’d hoped to hear that evening, we understood. The next morning, our realtor had to chase Josh to get any information at all. As it turns out, Josh and his sellers hadn’t even looked at the offer and were moving ahead with another open house. Fair enough — they want the best they can get. But here’s the issue — they told us they’d be looking at them in the morning (blatant lie) and they could have told us they would be going forward with the open house anyway and we could have not rushed to get our offer in the day prior (very deceitful as a whole, if you ask me). This would have also afforded us the time to see more open houses and schedule showings for the day of Josh’s second open house, but since he assured us they’d be looking at it in the morning we chose to wait before we scheduled more (as not to waste anyone else’s time). All around, the communication and honesty is just not there. He may be nice on the surface, but really Josh is just charismatic. Lesson learned not to take Josh’s word at face value because you’re just hurting yourself in the long run. Personally, I wouldn’t work with Josh or Edina Realty as a buyer OR seller after this experience — the integrity just isn’t there. Edina Realty, you’re better than that by a long shot.
