  Very helpful. I don't know if it's temporary but pedestrians are currently required to go to the drive-thru lane instead of entering the building.

  This location of 5/3rd Bank at 36th East 8th Street in Holland is now permanently closed as of the end of business on January 7th, 2022. The two story lobby still has the original floor and ornately decorated ceiling of the People's Bank and we took our kids here on the final day of business to see a time capsule of what banking was like back in the 1930s. The giant vault / safe door stands impressively behind the glass wall at the south end of the open central foyer. It later became Old Kent Bank and then they were bought by Fifth Third bank. We asked permission to take pictures of the ceiling and carved crown moldings as they were preparing to close on the last day, but they asked us not to out of concerns that we might accidentally get a picture of the safe. If you have an opportunity to see the carved scenes shown in the crown molding inside, it is worth your time. It truly was built as a bank for all the peoples of Holland, showing scenes of a husband and wife farming, a mechanic servicing a biplane, sculptors carving, an industrial workers in a factory, logistics and transportation, etc. I hope the new property owners preserve the lobby as best as they are able to.

  Today 12/6/19 services where interrupted at 5/3 and I could not buy lunch or gas. I went to the bank and they told me their systems are down and they can't do anything for me. For great customer service when you try to buy something it says insufficient funds instead of something more professional. Furthermore, none of the help numbers worked for the app being down or services interrupted. The line beeps three times and hangs up. For what you have to tolerate being a 5/3 client it's not worth it.
