Most deposits are available next business day, unless it's a holiday or weekend deposit. There had to be a reason the deposit that was made, was held for that long. Usually if we would put a hold on a large check deposit, it is 5 business days. If you call my office, I would like to resolve this and look into what the circumstance was. Was this a brand new account and a large check deposit? Thank you,

But far the worst bank and worst branch I have ever experienced in my life. Howard bank was bought out by first national bank. First national bank deactivated my bank card with absolutely no notification or warning. They didn’t mail new bank cards out until 3 days prior to the cards being deactivated. I ended up stranded at a restaurant for two hours because my payment was declined waiting for someone to come meet me with money to pay for me and my sons meal. The new card never came 60 days later and two temporary cards later I finally received my new bank card. To say that the abingdon location is understaffed would be an understatement. I wait a minimum of 25 mins each time just to cash one check. People in the drive thru wait for 20+ mins with no communication , no “please hold we will be right with you “ and finally pull away and leave in frustration. All the while the lady in the back office is no where to be seen to support her staff. Refusing to give the teller more money in her drawer as she is clearly running out of cash and counting out 10’s to everyone because she is “busy”. As my turn approached today a gentleman claimed he was shorted $20 out of $1000. Instead of getting back in line he proceeded to get in front of me. I told him he needed to wait and get back in line. As he proceeded to yell at me the bank telller told me she wouldn’t help me and would help him instead. She ran his money through the cash counter and low and behold it was accurate. She had me stand there for another 5+ minutes as this gentleman counted out every 20 until he got to 1000 before she would take my check. I will with out a doubt be transferring my money to another bank.

I had a terrible experience with the head teller Teri G. at the Abingdon branch in Maryland. I came to the bank to cash a check from an employer who the check was made from. As I entered the bank the only teller at that time told me that I could now come to the window. I received no hello or anytime of greeting and she was very serious throughout my whole experience. I proceeded with signing the back of my check and provided my drivers license and a bank card from another bank, since I do not currently have an account with first national bank. Teri then informs me that there is a $10 fee to cash the check, which I did not mind but I was not told at my previous visit at that same bank. The teller then proceeds to pick up the phone and call the employer that wrote out the check to me. She did not inform me prior that she would be doing that, I had to ask her if that was protocol as that was not completed at my previous visit. She informs me that it’s completed to protect their clients. What Teri should have done if that in fact was protocol was inform me as the customer that she would be contacting the employer to confirm the check was made out me. My concern is that the bank policies/protocols are not followed consistently and it seems like it’s more of a if I feel like completing these steps based on the customer that comes in. Teri was very unprofessional during the whole process. I previously had interest in opening an account with the bank but after being treated the way I did I would never do so. Professionalism, customer service, and communication needs to be practiced more with the tellers, especially the lead teller Teri. I will also be filing a complaint with corporate and confirm that this is a consistent practice and ensure all customers be treated fairly at this branch.
