  This is a review for Kathryn Shen. An exceptionally incompetent, clueless, and unprofessional employee! I find it deplorable that someone who lacks basic abilities and skills required to be a bank employee would be hired at any bank, let alone the First Republic, a bank that prides itself on excellent customer service! I want to say that this review has been in the works for over a year and is a compilation of experiences from two different people. It's important to note, that this employee has been given several chances to improve the first negative impression, however with each new visit, the initial impression had only solidified further! There was nothing complicated or difficult about the transactions that took place; in fact all transactions that took place over a year and a half with both individuals, were the most basic, simple, and quick transactions that anyone could think of when visiting a bank! However this employee's supreme incompetence and cluelessness has managed to turn these simple transactions, into a stress-filled nightmare, which lasted hours at a time! Various complaints had been made to bank management regarding employee's poor performance and had been brushed off. Not only was there a professional incompetence of the highest order, but also her personal conduct had left much to be desired! For example, the employee couldn't find an existing account in the system for nearly and hour and instead of apologizing for making a mistake, this employee had made a call to a support center and had claimed there was something wrong with a computer system, while all of the computers at the bank functioned normally. When I had asked what the problem was specifically, she said she didn't know or wasn't told. She tried to cover up her incompetence by making up something that wasn't true! There were bizarre demands to move away from the protective screen separating her from the client, even though the client was wearing a mask and even gloves, and maintained a distance required by the bank. She kept gesturing with her arm/hand telling the client to move away, even though other tellers were totally ok with the bank enforced COVID requirements and didn't ask their clients to move away further than was necessary! This was supremely disrespectful and rude! It's utterly unacceptable that someone so incompetent, rude, and clueless can be an employee of First Republic! What a disgrace!
