I enjoyed Great Western Bank over the last few years, but since the change over to “First Interstate” it’s been pretty bad. At this point I can’t even do a wire transfer at the physical location. The lobby is closed and at the window they said to try a different branch. It’s hard to manage a business when you can’t even do a wire transfer. I’ll be looking for a new bank. I’d recommend you run away as well. Still on hold after 30+ minutes.

      Response from the owner

Hi Brett, We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration our high call volumes have caused you. Before you leave, please consider connecting with your local banker in the branch for more information and discussion. We would appreciate the opportunity to work with you 1-on-1 to better understand where we may have missed the mark and discuss how we can support you.

So far this merger has been a nightmare. Can't access our online account info and been on hold a half hour as i write this. I loved great western, but now seeing this bank is headquartered in California and owned by Wells Fargo has led us to look for a bank that is local and will fit our needs better. Keeping our money and savings far away from both. I am sure the bank personel in town is still pleasant to work with and the merger isn't any of their fault. But I wouldn't recomend business with this merger bank.

      Response from the owner

Hi Lance, We are currently experiencing high call volumes. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you and appreciate your patience. First Interstate is not owned by Wells Fargo and is headquartered in Billings, Montana with a strong community presence in Sioux Falls. We are glad to report you'll continue to enjoy personalized service from the bankers you've come to know and trust. We hope we are given the chance to get to know you better and grow together as your trusted financial partner.
