Guaranteed Rate tried to do a bate and switch on us!! My husband and I have have perfect credit, money in the bank, only a mortgage for debt, many years employed, had a buyer for our home, met appraisals and building inspection for both homes- - -A dream client for banks. We were referred to Guaranteed rate by our agent. They failed to return calls, dragged on the process for almost 6 weeks, then came back and wanted to charge us close to $15 thousand dollars for a loan fee and 4.9% rate. We went back to our own lender and in 3 weeks got a 3.5% rate for under $1000 loan fee. The process was flawless with our own lender. Guaranteed Rate's delay forced us to have to move into temporary storage--We had to move twice, and had to assume MANY additional costs. We are thinking about suing them as we disclosed our credit history and assets in advance and were told that it would be no problem to get a loan. They caused many many many sleepless nights, anxiety, stress-Shame on Them!
