      The tax preparer kept asking for a tip, which struck me as unethical considering the nature of the work. I was concerned about if I needed to file AMT, and no one in the office knew what it was, then they started telling me I don’t need to based on things that were clearly irrelevant. The preparer did call the main office where they said their system would calculate it automatically if it was required. Based on their lack of knowledge, I wanted them to look at the worksheet on the IRS website together so we could confirm, and they refused to look at it. I had to go back to get an actual copy of my taxes because they didn’t give it to me when we filed them. Apparently they hadn’t submitted it yet. When I got my taxes, I did the worksheet myself, and it seems I don’t need to file AMT, but the way they handled it in the office left me the impression they really don’t know anything about tax law, but are just trained how to fill in numbers on a computer system. This was the first time I used a service to file my taxes, and next time I need to, I may be looking for a CEO or tax accountant who is more knowledgeable. They did find credits I didn’t realize I was eligible for at least. When I tried to do it at home, I thought I owed $15,000 and panicked. They came up with me owing $62, so overall it was still worth the cost of having it done. I gave two stars because of attitude and knowledge of the people who worked there, but since it largely relies on the computer system, that is worth something.

The tax preparer made it as a joke when he saw you were very worried about your taxes, we made every possible effort to show you that your concerns doesn't apply in your situation. We were confident about our work, but we still called the Liberty Tax Corporate office in front of you just to try to make you feel comfortable. Our team in this office committed to help our clients in the best way and file their taxes right.
