  Just dont, forget what their rate might be and choose a different lender. I recently refied with this joke of a lender. Horrible experience, broken promises, poor communication from start to finish. Pay attention to the small details if you use this place, failed to provide lender credits as promised, said I could shop for title company but sent my loan to their own title company after I had already informed them of who I would use, told them I would self fund escrow but financed my escrow instead. Now that I am in servicing I attempted to make a principle only payment but they instead applied my funds to 2 months worth of mortgage payments and their customer service has outright lied. I should report them to the state.

  I am sorry you had that experience with our corporate call center. It is always important to use a local loan officer. I wish I could have gotten with you during the beginning of your loan to help out.

  I’m working with an office out of California. Very nice associate, but they made me pay $500, then declined my loan. They claimed that a significant part of my income could not me verified in spite of the fact that it appears on my tax documents and I provided the 1099. I mean, I worked hard for that money, then paid TAXES on it and you still think it’s not legit. Seriously, who pays taxes on money they really didn’t make. It’s obviously a scam. They took my $500 “inspection fee” then declined the loan before calling an inspector. I should have known better than to talk to strangers. Please don’t waste your money playing games with them.

  I’m the local loan officer with loanDepot. Call me on my cell phone and I can figure out what happened. It is always best to use local loan officers with whom you can speak to in person. Normally our corporate office would refer you to me here locally if there were any issues with your self employed income. I can look at your tax returns and let you know what income a Fannie Mae underwriter would give you credit for. We don’t make the income calculation rules. All loan officers have to follow Fannie / Freddie / FHA / VA guidelines. But they certainly shouldn’t have charged you for the $500 appraisal deposit without verifying your income. And then they should have cancelled the order after reviewing your tax returns and refunded your money.
