Absolutely ridiculous! Such an inconvenience to get out of your vehicle, swipe your card to get in and add cash only to not be able to add cash!!! Then get to the drive up and wait at least 5 minutes to be assisted! I won't come here again!

Showed up at 4:40pm saying I needed to open a checking account. It was urgent as I needed an account ASAP to get my stimulus deposited. Would’ve showed up earlier but I worked until 3:45pm and had a X-Ray appointment across the street at 4pm. I got in and the entire bank was COMPLETELY empty. Like not a single customer in the drive through or inside but 6 employees were working at the time, most of which we’re nonchalantly talking to each other. I got in line where you normally do and waited to be assisted. The bank teller walks up to me and asks me if I need help. I told her I need to open a checking account today and it’s URGENT. She looked at me with an attitude and said “You have to come back another day because we close at 5pm and it’s 4:45pm, sorry. It normally takes up to 30 minutes to open up a new checking account.” I just thanked her and left. Never going to a M&T again, ESPECIALLY this one. It takes 5-10 minutes to open up a new checking account at any bank, online or in-person. I had all the documents needed in-hand so the most it would’ve taken is 15 minutes. I tried signing up online but instead of accepting the application (that only took 3 minutes to fill out mind you) it gave me a message at the end saying “Sorry we couldn’t verify your identity. Please visit a M&T branch near you to set up a new checking account.” I already don’t trust major banks and this just gave me another reason to stick with PayPal.
