  I am not one to leave reviews, but I had a horrible experience with Ravenswood Title Company for my home refinance, and I felt it needed to be shared. The notary who came to do our closing rushed through the paperwork. In doing so, she missed a portion where my mother needed to sign (my mom was previously on the deed of our home and was being taken off of the deed as part of our refinance). Seeing as I am not in the real estate, loan, or titling business, and am definitely not an expert in these matters, I had no idea that my mom would need to sign something during the closing. And no one informed me of this beforehand or during the closing. A few days later, I am woken up by my phone going off (I am a night shift nurse and I sleep during the day. I made sure to inform every one involved in our refinance of this so they were aware I am hard to get ahold of during the mornings/afternoons.) The notary had called me five times back to back, without simply leaving a message or sending me an email to explain the situation. So by the time my phone was ringing for the sixth time, I answered. The notary proceeded to berate me saying, “who is this other person on your closing paperwork??” “Well obviously, they need to sign too!” “Now you will have to get ahold of them and figure out when they can sign.” I let the notary know I could give her my mother’s address and phone number for her to contact her, but she said, “No, YOU just need to contact your loan advisor and figure this out.” Then, I am called again by one of the title agents (I presume. She never fully introduced herself.) Again, all she did was call me over and over again until I woke up and answered instead of simply leaving a message and allowing me to get back to her. This person was also very rude and unprofessional, literally yelling into the phone “Who is this person on your loan paperwork?! Where are they?! You need to give us her address and contact information!!” After the last person I spoke with told me not to do that.... I then was told that I had to get ahold of my mom and figure out scheduling for them to get together for her to sign, and was told that the notary is VERY busy so she may not get to it. Clearly, someone at Ravenswood Title made a mistake, which is understandable. We are all human, and I know that this is a very busy time for them. But instead of calmly letting me know about the mistake and making a plan to fix it, they blow my phone up and treat me like I purposefully withheld something from them, make ME figure out how to fix it, and act like I’m putting them out by needing them to fix the mess that they created. Very unimpressed and disappointed by this company.

  This company is owned by Guaranteed Rate. My experience with both was a disaster. They were supposed to post money to pay down my principal and that is still not taken care of after a month. I would never use either Guaranteed Rate or this title company.
