  The unfortunate thing about leaving this review is I would have preferred to stay silent. Let me start by saying, I have never been late on a payment and tried to address this whole issue before my next payment was even due. Situation: 10 months ago I purchased a 2015 Ford Explorer with 80k on the odometer. Within the first 20 miles, the rack and pinion went out. 2500.00 for repair. Dealer took care of it. 8 months later, the waterpump fails. 2100.00 for repair. I paid for that. One month after that repair, the transmission goes out. 3500.00 for repair. That I will not fix. Monthly payment for Vehicle is 500.00 a month. Total repair bill in 10 months ownership = 8100.00. This vehicle is a lemon. That is my fault. I'm not putting that on Sierra Central. What I am putting on them is the fact that they are trying to get me to keep what will ultimately financially ruin my family in about 6 months time at this rate. The vehicle broke down out of state. 500 miles from home. All I asked them to do was a "Voluntary Surrender." Which is perfectly legal and a way of being able to explain to future creditors why the vehicle was returned. Sierra Central is threatening to not pick up the vehicle. Essentially, what they have told me is fix and continue to pay your loan or we will NOT pick up the vehicle and they will hold me legally liable. They WILL NOT allow me to VOLUNTARILY SURRENDER the vehicle. They are trying to keep me responsible for the vehicle while SIERRA CENTRAL purposely tries to punish me even more by having late payments on my account. Now, let me be clear. They did not verbally express those particular words. I worked in banking for 10 years and I know and understand exactly what the 2 ladies were insinuating when told me that the bank would not pick up THEIR vehicle because it is out of state. Sierra Central would prefer to bankrupt a family with 4 children than do whats right. I have held up my end of the loan process along with communication from the inception of the loan to the moment my family and I decided we could no longer afford the vehicle. Not because of the monthly payment but rather the 810.00 a month it averages in repairs. The decision was not made lightly. We have 4 children between the ages of 9 and 13. With gas prices skyrocketing, along with food and everyday items, Sierra Central and the Asset recovery team have taken it upon themselves to add further stress and worry. Thank you, Sierra Central. You have shown us all that you treat people like the big banks do. May I also ask why you required me to open a savings account (that I did not want) when I purchased the vehicle? I ask, because that is a very common tactic that the big banks use to get customers to have more "products" with the bank. Banks know that the more products a customer has with the bank, the harder it is to leave. I'm guessing that my savings account that I didn't want, won't close automatically when the vehicle loan does, will it? Not happy with Sierra Central. My family is now under a lot more pressure because of Sierra Centrals Asset recovery team and their operating procedures. Thank you for reading.
