I would like to post a new review. The manager at the perimeter bank made sure she talked to me about the issues. Thank you for your time. Then talked to Jenny and she helped me learn about mobile banking to deposit my payroll . She was so kind and patient.

This is a mixed review. I've been banking with credit unions in three different states over the past 20 years. With regards to my checking and savings accounts, SECU has always been a fine institution, on par with others I've done business with. However, where SECU falls flat is mortgages. We decided to go with them for our house. As it turns out, they are just the middlemen and our mortgage was actually through a bank in central Georgia. Then that bank sold our mortgage to a company in New Jersey. It has been a nightmare. I will continue to bank with SECU, but I will never ever again get a loan from them. Better to pay a tad more and have your loan local.

Mr. Harding, thank you for your candid feedback and for your continuing membership at Southeastern. We are disappointed to hear your mortgage experience is not what you anticipated when you came to the credit union for a mortgage loan. We do have in house, local options, to keep your mortgage with the credit union. Fixed rates on these in house loans do not exceed a fifteen year commitment, although we can amortize the monthly payment over a thirty year period. However, if members need a 30 fixed rate or a specialized loan like FHA or VA, we are unable to keep those loans on our books. If the opportunity arises in the future, we would encourage you to talk to us about our in house options, if one of those solutions would work for you and your family. E. Michael Gudely President/CEO
