Buyer Beware!!!!!! This review is related to the Kempsville branch but there was not a specific link to that location so I am posting here. It is my strong opinion that, based on my own experience that this bank is potentially data mining from potential loan customers whom they already know they're not going to do the loan for, but collect the information anyways, for god-knows what other potentially nefarious purposes. I was absolutely clear in disclosing to the branch manager Wanda, the details of my situation and that I had been turned down on a couple of prior occasions. After gathering all of my sensitive identity information on the application, the loan was conveniently denied after being verbally approved by the branch manager on the phone. I called the Senior Vice-President Trent and all I got from him was "Oh, I apologize. We'll work setting different expectations on the phone in the future." Hey, how about this instead? How about just not lying through your teeth to me over the phone in the first place? How about not wasting my time and energy and potentially exposing my identity information to cyberworld when you damn well knew you weren't going to approve the loan in the first place? Honestly, I don't know how these people live with themselves or go to sleep at night. Apparently no heart or soul resides in them. There's a lot of reasons that debt sucks. These seeming underhanded practices are one of the reasons in my opinion it's best to avoid debt at all costs. Pun intended. Expressing verbal frustration with a personally crushing encounter at Southern Bank also intended. Borrowers you can do better! Be safe out there...
