  A horrible experience. They stamped an official bank check as counterfeit and called the police before even confirming funds (which were obviously good because it was an official bank check). Cost me a week of my time, loss of business and the embarrassment of having to get calls from the police and accusations of fraud. Not to mention, when my bank manager called to straighten things out the rep at St. Anne's was very rude, unprofessional, degrading and unwilling to cooperate, nor were they willing to offer any help to expedite the situation causing their customer and me time and money. terrible experience

  Hi Peter – Thank you for your feedback. I’m very sorry to hear you had an unsatisfactory experience with us. Because of the nature and dollar amount of this item, our standard procedure is to review this type of transaction. We contacted your bank who issued the check, and they informed us that the check was counterfeit. As a result, we stamped it as such. Later that day, your bank called to let us know they had made a mistake. We spoke to a manager in your bank and sent them the original official check so they could reissue a new one to you. We apologize for the inconvenience it may have caused, however St. Anne’s Credit Union did not determine the check was counterfeit, nor did we take steps to notify law enforcement. I’m happy to review the process (specifically the actions that we take versus the bank that the check was drawn from) so that this does not happen again. Please let me know if I can be of assistance.
