  I can’t say enough good things about our experience with the sales team at Tilson homes in Boerne. We had the pleasure of working with Kimberly Laxton who walked us through every step and made us feel supported and comfortable with the choices we made. She answered our many calls and emails quickly and was patient with our sometimes excessive questions. Kimberly is extraordinary and has really made us feel like we are part of the Tilson family!

  We have followed Tilson for a couple of years, watched all of their videos and everything. It started off a little slow as it took almost 1 month to have the stake out done when they say 1-2 weeks tops. As time went on within the first 6 mos, we had done what we needed on our end. Multiple times they came out to do the stakeout and it still wasn't done properly which resulted in the stake survey not being correct. Communication had already started slipping starting around month 2. COMMUNICATION IS KEY! I would ALWAYS have to constantly reach out to find out what the status of things were. When I did get a response it was always "2 weeks" or finally would respond with "We need to have a meeting" at the last second. Not letting us know things as they find them out, being too scared to give us bad news, etc. We had finally had enough and decided to cancel our contract. This process is going on over 1 month now! When I sent the email to cancel, I did not hear anything for 2 weeks leading me to call AGAIN! We tried to see about getting the stake out cost removed as it was never done properly and took so long to begin with but they wouldn't budge. They only care about the $$$. That was all that we wanted to contest. I don't know if it's just the Boerne location but we were highly disappointed with our sales person Lauren. Also, someone before us cancelled also leading me to wonder if this is the trend there. Needless to say we dropped off what we owed and then they say it will be 2 weeks for the documents from legal for us to sign. AGAIN, this cancellation was requested over a month ago (June 11 to be exact). Lessons learned on our end but I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone I know.

  Building on your land can be a lengthy process and it can take time to get the answers you need. We understand that we are not the right builder for everyone.   My husband and I began building our custom home with tilson in October 2020 when we signed our final paperwork. At that time we were told it would be about 12 months Until our home was built. It took them 4 months before they even started the foundation and an additional 3 months after that to get framing started. And the only explanation we were given was that it was due to covid, supplies and lack of laborers. Throughout this entire process it seems that they have no expectations and have the bar set very low on the accountability and responsibility they hold on the contractors they use. At some point you have to move forward. Cocid isnt going anywhere. Of these other builders like perry jones and scott felder can complete a home in a yeat then why cant Tilson?? I have to call in contact My superintendent to find out what's going on instead of him contacting me to keep me in the loop. And as he mentioned himself he's over A LOT of homes. Me as a customer i dont want to hear that i want my problems fixed and questions answered. Tilaon needs to hire more overall instard of spreading people so thin they can't provide the customer service they promise at signing. We are now past 18 months and I still have yet to have a close date but tilson continues to build homes when they can't even deliver what they promise at signing!!
