      I went to Trustco bank in Pelham today with the intention on opening a 19month CD @ 2.75 interest rate. However I left not opening an account and uncomfortable. As we entered the banker Manuel was there to greet and assist us. I told him what I was looking for and he looked at me like I was mentally incapable, thats when I started feeling uncomfortable. I sat, he briefly explained (about 20 sec) the CD, but emphasized the minimum amount twice. With good faith I said I would like to move forward and gave him a bank certified check. He inspected the check for a solid minute front and back like it was fake (maybe the amount was to high for someone who looked like me). Then told me it will take 11 days for the check to be cleared. Yes, a bank certified check takes 11 days to clear. Thats when I had enough and told him I would not be needing the banks business.
